This unusual and delicate Tibetan Buddhist symbol depicts an ancient Tibetan Buddhist belief that the knife joined to a Dorje handle creates a combination of wisdom (the actual Dorje represents wisdom) and the “cutting away” of ignorance (represented by the knife below the Dorje).

In Tibetan culture the Dorje and the Bell are used together as ritual instruments to symbolise sound and vibration cleansing and elevating the individual to pure wisdom through mantra.
